چکیده

Background: The extent of the dose received by breast during head CT, needs quantification to effectively predict risk carcinoma and gene mutation. Objective: study aimed evaluate radiation a CT scan in Enugu State. Methods: This cross-sectional which involved 52 adults women selected purposively, described doses shielded unshielded breasts examinations. relationship between anthropo-technical parameters Age, height, weight, BMI, circumferences, distance from External Auditory Meateus (EAM) TLD, kVp, mA, DLP was determined using Pearsons’ Correlation. Results: mean CTDIvol, DLP, circumferences (left right unshielded) are 29.43±40.0mGy, 540.8±107.03mGy, left (4.71±2.45mGy) (5.0±2.32mGy). There were positive correlations but not statistically significance absorbed BMI (r =0.152, p= 0.291), linear EAM TLD (r= 0.032, p = 0.828) mAs 0.100, 0.492), while there negative correlation exist with subjects’ age -0.112, 0.439). Conclusion: significant difference amount low breasts. Shielding greatly reduces CT. Therefore, we recommend that shielding should form standard protocol our setting.

Glandular dose in breast computed tomography with synchrotron radiation.

The purpose of this work is to provide an evaluation of the mean glandular dose (MGD) for breast computed tomography (CT) with synchrotron radiation in an axial scanning configuration with a partial or total organ volume irradiation, for the in vivo program of breast CT ongoing at the ELETTRA facility (Trieste, Italy). A Geant4 Monte Carlo code was implemented, simulating the photon irradiation...
